Time Of My Life

Well, I said my peace

But still felt none

Is this the way it feels after a war is won?

When desire has dulled

And the paint had peeled

They say now is the time to make a deal

But I've got no business

Doing business

No My heart just can't do the math

The only thing I'm good at spending

Is the time of my life

Thought I told the truth

As the bell was rung

But I might as well have been speaking in tongues

And I chose those words so cautiously

As careful as a surgeon and just as bloody

Cuz I've got no business

Doing business

My heart just can't do the math

The only thing I'm good at spending

Is the time of my life

An old man's days are hours

And youth seemed so routine

Now I’m stuck somewhere in the middle

But I can still make believe
